• Additional employment that directly or indirectly competes with the business
or the interests of Jones-Hamilton Co.
Employees who wish to engage in additional employment that may create a real or
apparent conflict of interest must immediately disclose the proposed additional
employment and submit a written request to the Human Resources Manager explaining
the details of the proposed additional employment. Jones-Hamilton Co. has sole
discretion regarding whether or not to authorize the proposed additional employment.
If Jones-Hamilton does not authorize the additional employment, any employee who
engages in such additional employment may be subject to discipline, up to and including
immediate termination.
If Jones-Hamilton authorizes the additional employment, Jones-Hamilton Co. assumes
no responsibility for it. Jones-Hamilton Co. will not provide workers’ compensation
coverage or any other benefit for injuries or damages occurring from or arising out of
additional employment. Authorization to engage in additional employment can be
revoked at any time.

Outside employment will not be considered an excuse for poor job performance,
absenteeism, tardiness, leaving early, refusal to travel or refusal to work overtime or
different hours.
Employees who have accepted outside employment may not use paid sick leave to
work on the outside job. Fraudulent use of sick leave will result in disciplinary action
up to and including termination.
BUSINESS CONDUCT AND ETHICS
It has been a long-standing policy of Jones-Hamilton Co. to conduct our business in
accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards. The success of Jones-
Hamilton Co. has been due not only to the efforts and skills of our employees, but also
the high standards of business ethics which have been maintained over many years. In
contact with outsiders, Jones-Hamilton Co. employees must observe the highest
standard of business ethics and avoid any activity or interest that might reflect
unfavorably upon their own integrity and good name, and the good name and
reputation of Jones-Hamilton Co. Each employee must avoid not only situations which
give rise to a personal conflict of interests, but also those situations which create the
appearance of one.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Employees must avoid any relationship or activity that might impair, or even appear to
impair, their ability to make objective and fair decisions when performing their jobs. At
times, an employee may be faced with situations in which business actions taken on
behalf of Jones-Hamilton Co. may conflict with the employee’s own personal interests.
Company property, information or business opportunities may not be used for personal
gain.
