For all employees, professional appearance also means that the organization expects you
to maintain good hygiene and grooming while working. Facial hair is permitted as long as
it is neat and well-trimmed. Earrings are acceptable; however, no more than two earrings
may be worn on each ear while working. Rings through the nose, eyebrow, tongue, or
body parts other than the ear lobe that are visible to the public may not be worn while
working. All tattoos must be small in size or covered at all times and may not be offensive
in nature. Employees are expected to be conservative in the wearing of makeup, scented
products, and hairstyles. Extreme hairstyles and excessive makeup and/or scents are
discouraged.
Any employee whose attire or appearance is determined to be inappropriate will be
counseled and may be sent home to change clothes. Time away from work will be
unpaid. Failure to comply with the standards for work attire and appearance may
result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Employees required to wear safety equipment or clothing still must do so on a casual
attire day.
Employees who work in the plant are expected to comply with appropriate attire for
that workplace. All employees required to wear uniforms provided by Jones-Hamilton
Co. must take care of their uniforms and report any wear or damage to their
supervisors. Instructions regarding cleaning and maintenance of uniforms will be
provided. Supervisors will inform you of additional requirements regarding acceptable
attire. Certain employees may be required to wear safety equipment or clothing. Any
deviations from these guidelines must be approved by your supervisor.
