may be used for purposes of security, but the use of a personal password
does not affect Jones-Hamilton Co.’s ownership of the electronic information.
▪ Jones-Hamilton Co. will override all personal passwords on company-owned
equipment, software or services if necessary for any reason.
▪ Jones-Hamilton Co. reserves the right to access, search, inspect, and review
electronic files, messages, email, voice mail, and other digital archives, and
to monitor the use of company-owned electronic communications as it deems
necessary.
▪ Employees are not permitted to access the electronic communications of
other employees or third parties unless directed to do so by Jones-Hamilton
Co. management.
▪ No employee may install or use anonymous e-mail transmission programs or
encryption of e-mail communications, except as specifically authorized by the
IT Department.
Employees who use devices on which company information may be received and/or
stored, including but not limited to cellular phones, laptops computers, tablets, fax
machines, and voice mail communications are required to use these methods in strict
compliance with the trade secrets and confidential communication policy established
by Jones-Hamilton Co. In general, these communications tools should not be used for
communicating confidential or sensitive information or any trade secrets. Access to the
Internet, websites, and other types of Jones-Hamilton Co. computer access are to be
used for Jones-Hamilton Co. related business. Misuse or excessive personal use may
result in discipline, up to and including termination from employment. Any confidential
or sensitive information about Jones-Hamilton Co., its products or services, trade
secrets, or other types of information that will appear in the electronic media
publications about Jones-Hamilton Co. must be approved by the President or Board
Member before the information is published on an electronic information resource that
is accessible to others. This provision is not meant to prevent employees from
discussing their wages, hours, and/or working conditions with each other, including
over electronic media, if they should so choose.
Questions about access to electronic communications or issues relating to security
should be addressed to the IT Department.
USE OF CELL PHONE WHILE AT WORK
Use of personal cell phones including texting, social media, internet use, phone calls,
and voice mails, is limited to the break area or the employees personal vehicle and
must occur during the employees breaks.
USE OF CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING
Jones-Hamilton Co. requires the safe use of cell phones by employees while conducting
business, and compliance with applicable law regarding use of cell phone and devices
in vehicle. Employees should not use cell phones or other devices while driving
because of safety concerns, but should instead pull to the side of the road to make or
receive telephone calls or otherwise use a cell phone or other device. If unable to pull
