WALKING IN WISDOM

to fill my mouth with words and wisdom that my enemies will
not be able to withstand or contradict (Luke 21:14-15).

Father, help me to keep the motives of my heart pure, to be
peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. To
be full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. Not to show
favouritism and to always be sincere. I pray that my conduct will
be marked by the humility that comes with heavenly wisdom
(James 3:13 &17). When I open my mouth to speak, let my words
be wise, but let my tongue also be governed by the law of
                 kindness (Proverbs 31:26).

Lord, help me not to speak hastily, as a fool does: To remain even
tempered, to hold my tongue and to show restraint (Proverbs
                 11:12, 12:23, 17:27 & 21:23). Help me to understand human
nature to know what is in each person’s heart, and to be silent
when I should not speak. (John 2:25).

I know that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are
hidden in Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:3). Lord, cause your wisdom
to enter my heart today, and discretion to protect me, and
understanding to guard my ways (Proverbs 2:8).

I pray that by your Holy Spirit, I will understand what is true
Wisdom in each situation that I encounter; that is, that I will
know what is the right, and fair, and just thing to do, and that I
will take only good paths (Proverbs 2:6&10). Thank you Lord.
                 Amen.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning
                                   of all knowledge.”
                                     (Proverbs 1:7)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God,
who gives generously to all without reproach,
and it will be given him.”
                                      (James 1:5)
