SESSION 13 : Song Of Songs Chapter 5:9-16 (TPT)
On other occasions, when circumstances looked absolutely dire and
impossible to overcome, it was standing in faith on the Word of God
that kept me going. When we find ourselves in traumatic situations in
life, it is of vital importance that we go to the Lord before anyone else
and hear what His take is on the matter.
I have already mentioned earlier in the book that the Lord asked me to
put my marriage on the altar. During the time my husband and I were
separated, he was convinced we were finished and had a relationship
with another woman. Several people, including a pastor, advised me to
divorce him at this juncture. I can still remember being told that “it was
time to live my own life now.”
However, before taking action on the words spoken to me, I went to
God and asked Him what I should do. Firstly, He told me that my life
was no longer my own but belonged to Him, and that He wanted to use
this experience for His glory. He then showed me very clearly from His
Word that I should continue to walk in forgiveness and love, and to
keep on waiting because all would be well. I chose to believe—and a
year later, the Word of God came to pass. Now, my marriage is totally
restored and better than it ever was. Furthermore, I now know that my
husband truly loves me, whereas before our separation, this was not the
case at all. How great in mercy and compassion is our God! No wonder
the Shulamite loves Him. And when we see His goodness and
unconditional love towards us, we will love Him this way too.
