Don’t worry—we’ll help you get your mom to understand,” Madelyn
said, trying to convince me.
“Ugh, fine. But if this does not work, we stop, alright?”
“Alright, alright,” Madelyn said with a dull attitude.
I felt a little awkward and, honestly, confused with myself for even
thinking this whole plan might not work. But they were right—the plan
should be good. I mean... I’m the one who thought of it.
“Okay, you guys have to go now. I need to do my laundry, and I
don’t think you’d like to watch me do that,” I said to them.
“Yeah, bye, Charls!” Elisha tossed her big bag of chips into my pink
