THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL

“Well… I’m a bit shocked to say that I missed you.” I chuckled
          under my breath.

My mother wrapped her arms around me. “Me too, Elle, and I

always thought about you when I was away.”
“Please don’t leave me again, then.” I stared at her dark forest-

          green eyes.
She pulled back, gently stroking my cheek. “I won’t. It’s a promise.”

So, after hanging out a little with my (reunited) parents, I
remembered I still hadn’t told Travis my feelings, so I went upstairs to

my room and called him. It took a while before he answered.

               “Hi,” I said.
“Hey,” he muttered, sounding like a dull, unbothered guy.

“Look, I’m sorry I had to go last minute. My family needed to

tell me some big news.” I fidgeted with my fingertips.
“It’s alright, but… weren’t you about to say something before

          you left?”
               I stammered. “Uh…”

“Something about me. What was it?”
I took a deep breath and hoped he wouldn’t reject me after I

          brought out my feelings.

“Well, lately… I’ve been having feelings for you, and it’s mostly
about how funny and smart you are. But I’m really hoping you won’t

          reject me.”
I heard him chuckle, and I knew it was the end for me.

“Elle… you know, I’ve also been having feelings for you.”
