BETWEEN THE LANES
I was staggered. “Wait, really?”
“Yeah, but it wasn’t because of your personality or anything. It was
because I had a feeling you were the same ‘Els’ from the MS Car
game.”
Uh-oh.
“Is it really you, though?” he asked.
“Um… yeah. But how’d you find out?” I rubbed my neck.
“Well, Els sounded exactly like your real name—Elle—and when
you told me you play car racing games, I put two and two together
and found out.”
Whoa… he’s so smart he even found out about me. And I’m very
dumb, because how the heck did I also think of making my fake name
sound exactly like my real name?!
“So… you’re the PrinceTrev guy?”
“Yep.” He made a dramatic sigh.
Now, Diary, don’t think this is weird, but in case I have kids in the
future and they ask me how I met my boyfriend, I’d say it was a very
wonderful and shocking moment—mostly because we both like the
same thing (racing games), and we have feelings for each other. But
that’s not going to happen unless we marry, of course.
“Um… now that that’s over, want to play some rounds of MS Car
Racing?” I asked, relieved.
“Sure, milady.”
I’m sure later in the future, he’ll be calling me milady and other
cute names that I’d admire.
