several men in coveralls who drank even cheaper beer came
after them and put the cars back together. Then the driver was
released, regardless of what beer they drank, their keys were
returned, and they were free to continue on their way. These

men were searching every single car coming and going at
every entrance to the complex. Could it be the thing he found
in Richard's office they were looking for? Tommy panicked,
turned around, and drove north mindlessly. Before he knew it
he was in D. C. He went right into the middle of the city. He
didn't know why. He was in shock. He passed the Maritime
Memorial, crossed the Arlington Memorial Bridge, passed the
Lincoln Memorial, and then parked his car by the National Mall.
He was having a panic attack. He was hyperventilating to the

point of passing out. Tommy was not very in tune with his
subconscious. That was a place he could not possibly venture a
glance at. He was horrified by the flotsam and jetsam he found
there if he should ever peek. It was the government buildings
and memorials which were causing his anxiety, as if his
imagination expected men in black suits with sunglasses were
behind or inside of every one, ready to lurch out and take him

into custody. He sat down and tried to control his thoughts.


Tommy looked around and around, grasping for anything that
would put his mind at ease. He could see the WWII Memorial.
It terrified him. He imagined a man in a suit hiding behind each
of the wreath covered sections holding a semi-automatic rifle.
He fixed his eye upon the spire of the Washington Monument
and began to feel a peace come over him. His breathing went
