APEC Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Post 2020
Vision
In February 2020, Dr Mustafa Izzuddin, an NYAA Gold
Award holder (2002 cohort) represented the APEC
Voices of the Future of Singapore at the High-Level
APEC Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue held in Putrajaya,
Malaysia. Dr Mustafa has had experience attending
such meetings. He was a member of Singapore’s
APEC Voices delegation in 2008 in Lima, Peru and in
2011 in Honolulu, Hawaii. In Putrajaya, he assisted
in the preparation for the APEC Voices of the Future
Meeting to be held in conjunction with the APEC Dr Mustafa Izzuddin, Youth Representative of the APEC Voices of
Economic Leaders’ Week which Malaysia hosted the Future, Singapore and Tan Sri Dr Rebecca Sta Maria, Executive
Director of the APEC Secretariat, Malaysian officials and delegates
in November 2020. In Putrajaya, Dr Mustafa had at the APEC Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Post 2020 Vision in
the opportunity to meet with Dato Sri Norazman Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The Ninth International Swiss Talent Forum
2020
The Ninth International Swiss Talent Forum was held
in Nottwil, Switzerland, from 5 to 8 February 2020.
At this forum, more than 70 outstanding students Dr Mustsfa Izzuddin, Youth Representative of the APEC Voices
selected from the European Union, Singapore of the Future, Singapore, presented Dato Sri Norazman Ayob,
and hosted nation Switzerland met to discuss the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of International Trade
theme on “World Food System” with high-profile and Industry of Malaysia.
personalities from business, civil society and politics
to brainstorm with fellow young leaders to find new
solutions for the problems raised at the forum. The
young leaders worked together with their mentors
and experts to work in interdisciplinary teams
and tackle problems using a solution-orientated
approach. Working closely together in such a setting
helped the delegates build a valuable network of
national and international contacts to support their
future development.

West, represented NYAA Singapore at the forum.
They made Singapore proud when one of their
projects helped identify acceptable behaviour and
measure for food losses and food waste reduction
as a significant contribution to the sustainability of
future food system by using high-frequency devices
and ultrasonic devices to kill rice weevils found in
grains as a solution to improve effective storage of
grains and legumes. Their project shows that high
frequency can kill fungi and micro-biotic organisms
selected by the conference as one of the outstanding
projects for 2020. Singapore NYAA representative Mr Dela Cruz Ysmael Archilles
Villamayor from ITE College West presented his project on food
waste reduction by using high-frequency and ultrasonic devices.
