World News Day Webinar 2020
            The  World  News  Day  2020  Webinar  was  jointly
            organised  by  The  Straits  Times,  Singapore  Press
            Club,  NYAA  Council  and  Singapore  University  of
            Social  Sciences  on  28  September  2020.  Over  150
            newsrooms around  the  world highlighted  the  role
            of the media during the pandemic. The theme was:
            “Covid-19: How Can You Contribute?”

            The NYAA and Mr Lee Zhong Han, NYAA Gold Award
            holder from Singapore University of Social Sciences,
            produced  a  video  showcasing  how  the  NYAA  Gold
            Award holders helped victims of the COVID-19 virus
            worldwide during World News Day 2020.

            There was a live deep-dive with youth and the media
            on tackling the pandemic. The panellists were Prof
            Dale  Fisher,  Infectious  diseases  expert;  Mr  Warren
            Fernandez, Editor of The Straits Times; Dr Judy Tay,
            Head of Digital Media Programme, SUSS. Mr Viswa   A full-page World News Day Webinar 2020 article in the Straits

            Sadasivan,  Chief  Executive  Officer,  Strategic  Moves
            Pte Ltd and a Member of the NYAA Council, was the
            discussion leader for the panel discussion.

            Another  panel  comprised  Mr  Tama  Salim,  World
            News  Editor,  The  Jakarta  Post,  Indonesia;  Ms  Pam
            Rances,  Digital  Content  Manager,  Manila  Bulletin,
            Philippines; Mr Zakir Hussain, Singapore Editor, The
            Straits  Times  and  Vice-President,  Singapore  Press
            Club.  The  discussion  leader  was  Ms  Shefali  Rekhi,

            St. Gallen Symposium 2020
            The St. Gallen Symposium 2020  was held virtually
            on 7 and 8 May 2020. H.E.Karin Keller-Sutter graced
            the  Opening  Session,  Federal  Councillor  and  Head
            of the Department of Justice and Police of the Swiss
            Confederation on 7 May 2020 and the Closing Session
            was graced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
            for Finance of Singapore H.E. Heng Swee Keat on 8
            May 2020.

            Speakers  on  the  first  day  of  the  Virtual  St.  Gallen
            Symposium are Dr Mamphela Ramphele, President
            of The Club of Rome and former Managing Director
            of  the  World  Bank;  Ms  Aya  Chebbi,  African  Union   Singapore’s  Deputy  Prime  Minister  and  Minister  for  Finance,
            Envoy  on  Youth  and  Fabien  Curto  Millet,  Director   Mr Heng Swee Keat, was the Guest-of-Honour for the St. Gallen
                                                             Symposium 2020 Closing Session.

            why cooperation between generations will be more
            important  than  ever.  Other  prominent  speakers
            on  the  second  day  are  Prof  Bernhard  Ehrenzeller,
            President of the University of St. Gallen, Ms Shirley
            Yu,  Economist/Bilingual  Moderator,  Global  Finance
            and  Economic  and  Chairman,  Dominic  Barton.  The
            event was wrapped  up  with a statement from the
            International Student Students’ Committee.
