IGAF International Conference 2021
The Bogor Agricultural University of Indonesia is
one of the United Nations Environment Network's
key partners in ASEAN. The university hosted the
IGAF international Conference 2021 in September
2021 to commemorate the International Day for the
Preservation of the Ozone Laye. Their theme was:
Today's Steps Determine the Future.
Mr James Soh, Executive Director, NYAA Singapore
and an Advisor to the United Nations Environment IGAF International Conference 2021, Bogor, Indonesia.
South East Asian Youth Environment Network
(SEAYEN), was invited to deliver the keynote address
on "How Youth Can Play a Role in Climate Change
Mitigation". More than 300 faculty staff and students
attended the conference.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - TOUCHING LIVES, MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Gam Sia Community Project
During the Gam Sia (Thank You) Community Project,
400 care packages were prepared for the elderly and
their families at Radin Mas SMC. This project was a
partnership and collaboration between Bukit Merah
Youth Network and NYAA Gold Award Holders’
Alumni, supported by the People’s Association and
the NYAA Council.
In January 2021, Mr Melvin Yong, Member of
Parliament for Radin Mas SMC and project leader Ms
Lim En, Vice-Chairman, Bukit Merak Youth Network
and an NYAA Gold Award holder, and volunteers
distributed the goodie packages to thank the elderly
residents for staying strong during the COVID-19
pandemic and encourage them to take care and stay
safe. It was a significant project which the elderly
residents appreciated. Gam Sia Community Project at Radin Mas SMC.
