Film Together-Smart Phone Filmmaking
            Competition
            Smartphones  have  democratised  the  art  of
            filmmaking.  It  is  an  intelligent  tool  to  inspire  the
            next  generation  to  share  their  compelling  stories
            confidently and conveniently. Moreover, stories have
            always  been  an  effective  way  to  create  awareness
            about issues and aspirations.


            The  NYAA,  the  High  Commission  of  Canada  and   Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Film Together Smart
            Ewing  Communications  launched  Singapore’s  first-  Phone Filmmaking Competition 2021.
            of-its-kind Smartphone Filmmaking Competition for
            young people on the theme “Diversity and Inclusion
            2021” in February 2021. More than 100 entries were
            received from secondary schools, junior colleges, ITE,
            polytechnics and universities.

            The  judges  selected  ten  shortlisted  films  for  the
            Best Overall Film, Best Use of the Theme and Most
            Creative  Entry  and  four  Honourable  Mentions.  The
            Best Overall Film Race to Inclusion” was won by ITE

            won  by  CHIJ  Secondary  (Toa  Payoh),  and  the  Most
            Creative Entry ‘In My Control’ was won by ITE College
            East.  Four  Honourable  Mentions  winners  were
            ‘Fursona’ from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, ‘Singapore is
            Me’ from ITE College East and ‘My Class 2N8’ from
            CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) and ‘Heart of Inclusion’
            by St. Joseph’s Institution.

            The prizes were presented by H.E. Lynn McDonald,
            High  Commissioner  of  Canada  to  Singapore,  on  29
            April 2021 at the ITE College Central auditorium.




            Spring on Earth
            The annual Lunar New Year Gala Concert, “Spring on
            Earth”, organised by Huaxia Cultural Hub, was graced
            by Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community
            and  Youth,  and  attended  by  H.E.  Hong  Xiaoyong,
            Ambassador  of  the  People’s  Republic  of  China  in
            January 2021.

            Knowing the culture is vital for the young people as  Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.
            it has the power to transform societies, strengthen
            local communities and forge a sense of identity for
            people  of  all  ages.  Moreover,  as  a  national  youth
            organisation, culture plays a vital role in promoting
            sustainable  social  and  economic  development  for
            future generations.

            NYAA  Gold  Award  Holders’  Alumni  members  are
