Family Value Sharing
Young parents must understand the most critical
factor for their child’s well-being. Of course, parents
can give their children the best in food, toys, clothes
and a good education. But, more importantly, they
must not forget to share more time with their
children. The NYAA Junior Programme-The Butterfly
Award emphasises the importance of family bonding.
It encouraged parents to take an interest in their
children’s development and spend time with them
whenever possible.
Mr Michael Lim, an NYAA Gold Award holder and
a Manager with the Red Cross Youth Leadership, Straits Times press article on family bonding with GAHA
developed a programme for young parents in the Member.
NYAA on parenting. His programme was titled ‘Don’t
Scold, But Explain’. He suggested that kids treated
with respect learn to respect others too. The Straits
Time Life Section highlighted Mr Lim’s parenting style
on 3 May 2021.
ITE Senior Management Workshop on
Networking
The Institute of Technical Education Headquarters ITE Senior Management Workshop on Networking at ITE
organised a workshop for its senior management on Headquarters.
“Partnership and Networking” in September 2021.
Keynote speaker Mr James Soh, Executive Director,
NYAA Council, shared with the staff and directors the
importance of partnership and networking and how
to build a positive relationship with partners based
on respect, trust and sharing of best practices. Mr Soh
hopes his sharing will add value to the ITE leadership
in Singapore and overseas.
The feedback from the senior management staff
was very positive, both from the physical and virtual
participants.
Donation to ITE College West
Mr Eugene Seah, Managing Director, Surbana
Technologies, Surbana Jurong Group and an NYAA
Gold Award holder, has been working closely with ITE
College West to develop the Smart Nation Technology
Programme. The programme hopes to prepare the
ITE students for the job market in-built management.
ITE College West management hosted a dinner to
thank Mr Seah for contributing $10,000 to help the
needy engineering students at ITE College West.
ITE College West’s principal, Ms Alice Seow, NYAA
Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director,
attended the dinner. Cheque presentation ceremony at ITE College West.
