Partnership with Singapore Prison Service
The NYAA Programme in prison was launched in
2000 by Minister for Home Affairs Mr Wong Kan Seng
at Kaki Bukit Prison School. Since then, hundreds
of young offenders have journeyed through the
NYAA Programme, which has become an important
rehabilitation programme in prison. In 2020,
Singapore Prison Service and NYAA celebrated its
20th Anniversary, with the most significant number of
80 young offenders clinching the NYAA Gold Award.
President Halimah Yacob graced the 20th Anniversary
of the NYAA Programme, and we highlighted it in
the Singapore Prison Service’s Annual Report 2020,
            released on 22 June 2021.

Round the World via Zoom platform in 80 Days
Zoom Around the World in 80 Days was a project
initiated by Mr Andass Teu, a Senior Marketing
Director with ERA Realty Network Pte Ltd and an
NYAA Gold Award holder and Chairman of the NYAA
Young Photographers’ Network. Appreciation plaque presentation to NYAA by the Malay
                                                              Youth Literary Association.
The project supported by the NYAA Council provided
a unique platform to promote encouraging support
during the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing positive
stories and uplifting the human spirit across the globe.
The message was clear that young people are not
alone in facing the crisis. There is a larger community
out there that they can count on for support. The
project showed the human spirit’s strength when we
came together to support and care for each other
            during these trying times.
Round the world in 80 Days via zoom platform.
