ACHIEVEMENTS & CONTRIBUTIONS BY NYAA PARTICIPANTS AND AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR 2021
Many NYAA Gold Award holders have stepped forward to serve and contribute to society during these trying
times. Their leadership and contributions have made a difference to those they served and helped.
Mr Roddy Mu
Mr Roddy Mu Liguo, Managing Director, Wanhe
International and NYAA Gold Award holder (2002
Cohort), was appointed by the Ministry of Education
as a West Spring Primary School Advisory Committee
member. Mr Mu is an active member of the School
Advisory Committee and contributed significantly to
many school projects.
Mr Mu also served as a Citizens’ Consultative
Committee and Community Club Management
Committee member at Jurong GRC (Clementi ward).

Mr Eugene Seah
Mr Eugene Seah, Managing Director, Surbana
Technologies and an NYAA Gold Award holder (1995
Cohort) and Deputy Chairman, NYAA Council, has
been actively serving on the Advisory Council on
Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD) for many
years.
Mr Seah has been reappointed as ACCORD Employer
and Business (Member) of the Advisory Council on
Community Relations in Defence by Dr Ng Eng Hen,
Minister for Defence, on 24 September 2021.
Mr Eugene Seah Hsiu-Min, NYAA Gold Award holder (1995
Cohort).
Dr Alvona Loh
NYAA has been exploring how we could support
young people suffering from mental health issues.
Dr Alvona Loh Zi Hui, a mental health specialist and
co-founder of WEquality, a mental health programme
and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2013 Cohort), has
raised awareness of mental health issues.
Dr Loh and her team have developed a programme
to identify feelings, moods and relationships with
others. The programme will allow students to talk
about their emotions before significant examinations.
Under the NYAA Healthy Living Section, we can add
the mental health programme.
