The ARTiculate @ North East
The NYAA Young Photographers’ Network (YPN) has
nurtured many outstanding young photographers.
Many have been paying forward by contributing
their talent and skills to help the less fortunate in our
society.
Mr Brandon Chia, a Registered Nurse at the Tan Tock
Seng Hospital and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2015
Cohort) and Mr Jason Pan, an Electrical Engineer
and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2006 Cohort),
volunteered their photography skills to capture more NYAA young photographers at work for charity at Northeast

catalogue.
The fundraising project was held in November
and December 2021 and has successfully raised
more than $100,000.00 for eleven beneficiaries
organisations. Northeast Community Development
Council General Manager Mr Kelvin Thong was very
grateful and thanked NYAA, Mr Chia and Mr Pan for
their excellent work capturing the best of the 200
art pieces and paintings through their lens for the
fundraising project.
Singapore Young Photographers’ Convention
2021
The Singapore Young Photographers’ Convention
(SYPC) 2021 was organised by Anglo-Chinese School
(Independent) and supported by the NYAA YPN in
march 2021. More than 300 students from secondary Singapore Young Photographers’ Convention 2021.
schools, junior colleges, ITE and polytechnics
participated in the SYPC 2021 held at the ACS(I)
campus.
The top prize received a cash prize plus a trip to Japan
to participate in the 7th international High School
Students’ Photo Festival Exchange.
Hillgrove Secondary School won the top prize, 1st
runner-up went to Anglo-Chinese Junior College,
and 2nd runner-up went to Anglican High School.
The three Honourable Mention prizes went to Unity
Secondary School, Kuo Cuan Presbyterian School and
Nan Chiau High School. The three top winning teams
received a plaque each and cash prizes worth more
than $1,000.
