The neighbors implied that I had not

received all of the Holy Spirit when I trusted

Christ as my Savior. Since I was a new

Christian at that time, I didn’t fully understand

all that had happened to me when my heart

responded to the preaching of the cross

with repentance toward God and faith

toward the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21).

All I knew was that I now loved the Lord

Jesus, abhorred sin in my life, and I had a

new desire to learn the Bible and to live a

life that was pleasing to God — and I

certainly felt no need to seek anything

more from God, because my heart was so
