baptism of the Holy Spirit and the so-called

gift of speaking in tongues. So sad!!

With God’s leading, I came to the scripturally

supported belief that since God had given

the ultimate gift when He gave His Son to

shed His blood and suffer for our sins on

Calvary’s cross, He surely would not

withhold from believers that which

establishes a believer as a child of God —

the indwelling Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:9) — nor

would He withhold any portion of the Holy

Spirit that would be needful for believers to

have power to serve Him and live a life that

would bring honor and glory to His name.

Before He ascended to Heaven, Jesus told

His disciples in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive
