About Being a Grandmother

heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my

portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all

the works that my hands had wrought, and on

the labour that I had laboured to do: and,

behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and

there was no profit under the sun.” (Ecc. 2:9-11)

Solomon no doubt experienced the joy of family

and having grandchildren, and yet even family

could not bring complete fulfillment to his life.

In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-37 that

there would be strife in family relationships –

not peace – when a person becomes a genuine

             born-again Christian:

“Think not that I am come to send peace on

earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against

his father, and the daughter against her

mother, and the daughter in law against her

mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they

of his own household. He that loveth father or

mother more than me is not worthy of me: and
