RHO: During the Scholarship Luncheon, the chapter recognized the Hub Parent of the Year in
March 2019. Graduating high school seniors recognized their parents during the Senior Sendoff
program in June 2019. Parents have been instrumental in planning and implementing the Youth
Advisors for the Xinos and Kudos since July 2019. Additionally, they served at community
projects such as the Sunday Breakfast Mission, homeless shelter in Wilmington, clothes drive,
Ronald McDonald House Service Program and after school program at Bancroft Elementary
Schools. Parents supported the programs via fundraising, chaperoning social event, and
presenting at one of our workshops. They were responsible for inviting former Kudos, who
spoke about community involvement and being entrepreneurs. The presentations included the
impact that being participants in the NSPDK, Inc. had upon them.
Beta Omicron: The Beta Omicron Hub-Parents worked very hard to raise funds for the Xinos
and Kudos transportation and other related activities in preparation for the 2019 Regional Youth
Leadership Conference. Their support, along with the work of the Youth Advisors and other
Sorors encouraged our youth’s success. They brought home numerous Conference Awards. We
are proud of them.
Delta Nu: In August 2018, Delta Nu co-sponsored Operation Big Book Bag presented by Rev.
Dr. Frank Napier, Back to School Book Bag Give-a-Way with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,
Inc., Iota Alpha Sigma Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Lambda Upsilon Chapter,
Paterson Bronze Heat, and Bronze Shields of Passaic County. Over 1,000 book bags, stuffed
with school supplies, were shipped to Haiti and Puerto Rico.
Delta Pi: Our Hub Parents began 2019 with bonding/planning meetings during the months of
September and October. Applications were completed and activities were planned. Our annual
money raffle drawing was given out to youth and parent during our December meeting. The
group had a successful popcorn sale and has made preparation for our second fundraising at
Applebee’s. All funds are given to our youth group to help with expenses for transportation to
the youth conference, etc. Some parents transported and participated in our Annual Teach-A-
Rama Workshop for Parents and participated in the Annual Making Strides against Breast
Cancer Walk. Furthermore, our parents have been a big help in supporting our youth with
donating food items for the Thanksgiving Baskets, and hats, gloves and socks to two Homeless
Shelters. We are looking forward to their presence at our African American History Program
and a successful youth conference.
Gamma Mu: No Hub Parents
Recommendations: Those chapters who do not have a Hub Parent Group attempt to get
support from other adults in the lives of the children we serve.
Respecfully,
