I have been with Essex for 4.5 years and have held the titles of Contract Administrator,
Senior Specialist – Contracts, and Manager - Ancillary Income.

The thing I like the best about Essex is that leadership strongly feels that just because things
have been done a certain way does not mean that is the way they should be done. They
are open to new ideas and feedback to help the company grow. They are always looking
for ways to improve and adapt. My Work – I love that every day there is something new
Courtney that I am evaluating and learning about. Through evaluating new possible programs, I have
learned about telecommunications, music licensing, parking, renter’s insurance, security
Jones deposit alternatives, etc. I am constantly learning, and I love that! My Department – I love
how well we all work together as a team. We all may handle different areas of asset
Manager- management but when an issue pops up, we all work together to solve, even if we do not
Ancillary Income work directly together every day.

My greatest strength is my organizational skills. I am extremely organized and that helps
me keep up with the fast pace of my role and keeps me knowledgeable on items. The most
important lesson I’ve learned is to be flexible. Just because you do something a certain way
doesn’t mean that it will work for your associates. They may have another way to go about
tasks that works better for them and yields the same results. If you’re lucky, they may even
find a way that handles items better. This is so important because not everyone is the
same and I truly feel that it’s our differences that help us succeed.

When planning, having a clear idea as to where you want to be and what that success looks
like to you is important. If you don’t have a clear end goal for your future you cannot
identify a path on how to get there; and if you can’t identify a path you won’t have a clear
understanding of how to reach your end goal.

My core values are integrity, positivity, compassion, respect, and open-mindedness.

Fun Fact: I played premier soccer through college and love playing sports in general.
