dek urang (good for us, good for people, sick for

us, sick for people). While pareso is conformity
with the value of propriety that is commonly

applicable and appropriate fairness which is judged

in accordance with the words of one's heart or
conscience. In the customary tradition, it is stated:

talatak one in tampeknyo, nan manuruik alua jo
patuik. (There is something in its place, according

                          to the flow and propriety).
➢ Have the wisdom to read the thoughts and feelings

(sensitive) of others. It is mentioned in the

following reading: alun takilek is takalam, fish
takilek is in the lauik the male tantu batinonyo (not

yet the glare is dark, one look at the fish in the sea
can be determined male or female). A Minang can

analyze the direction of a conversation, whether
                          intentionally created or a reality.

➢ Self aware. As stated in the adat tradition: ingek

ingek nan di ateh, how come you come from below
(remember the ones above, maybe the drains come

from below). Anticipate carefully a situation that

will occur. It could be a disaster that comes from
                          someone who is not unexpected.
