us, sick for people). While pareso is conformity
with the value of propriety that is commonly
applicable and appropriate fairness which is judged
in accordance with the words of one's heart or
conscience. In the customary tradition, it is stated:
talatak one in tampeknyo, nan manuruik alua jo
patuik. (There is something in its place, according
to the flow and propriety).
➢ Have the wisdom to read the thoughts and feelings
(sensitive) of others. It is mentioned in the
following reading: alun takilek is takalam, fish
takilek is in the lauik the male tantu batinonyo (not
yet the glare is dark, one look at the fish in the sea
can be determined male or female). A Minang can
analyze the direction of a conversation, whether
intentionally created or a reality.
➢ Self aware. As stated in the adat tradition: ingek
ingek nan di ateh, how come you come from below
(remember the ones above, maybe the drains come
from below). Anticipate carefully a situation that
will occur. It could be a disaster that comes from
someone who is not unexpected.
