always willing to study, explore and research the
phenomena that occur, as the traditional mamangan
describes: manilantang maituang rafters, maereng
maituang dindiang, manungkuik maituang floors
(brave counting rafters, tilted counting walls, face down
counting floors).
c. Fundamentalist; Mamangan adat mentions that it is
customary for the paneh deck not to be obsolete, the
rain deck not to be obsolete. (a custom that doesn't fade
because of heat, doesn't rot because of rain). Two of the
four main types of customs are customs that cannot be
changed because they are sunatullah.
d. Inclusive; Mamangan adat states: where the earth is
stepped on, where sinan langik is upheld. (where the
earth is stepped on, there the sky is upheld). In matters
that are not principal, the Minang community is very
open and responsive, flexible and innovative.
Answering the phenomena that occur around him, and
if necessary things that are already used but not useful
should be abandoned. Innovative, not leaving problems
left unsolved, problem solving emerges with new
thinking.
