to maintain balance and harmony by inculcating moral
and religious values (Tawhid).
5. The existence of syncretism between traditional
teachings originating in the real universe and Islamic
teachings which also adhere to the teaching that nature
is the verses of God, then this reinforces that Minang
traditional education materials tend to be rational rather
than emotional. The teachings of mind (morals)
contained in adat are not teachings that are blind taqlid
(manut), but have clear and logical goals, therefore it
can be said that the moral teachings contained in adat
are rational morals.
6. That Minang custom contains educational materials
aimed at developing character both individually and
collectively (society). This means that the development
of individual character is in line with the development
of community groups. Therefore, Minang traditional
education is based on the balance of individual and
community development.
In Minang customs there are four types of customs,
namely:
1. Customs are actually customary, related to natural law
(sunatullah).
