D. Educational Goals

The purpose of education is built on an educational
foundation determined by the philosophy or way of life of a group.

Langeveld further explained that:

"Experience shows that nothing is expected from an
ultimate goal of education, if the goal is not related to life

beliefs, which determine the attitude and personality of
educators. That is why the purpose of new education will

be successful, if conformity with beliefs and therefore
determines the nature of educators to be achieved by

educators must have the same basis as their beliefs.
From the information above, it can be concluded that the
purpose of education is closely related to the foundation or basis

of education. From the educational foundation, it can be
determined the final (general) goal to be achieved from an

education. After the final goal is determined, it must be formulated
the direction and purpose or which line will be traversed to achieve

the final goal.

According to the formula set by the world congress
regarding the goals of Islamic education as follows, as quoted by

M. Arifin:
