More females (64.7%) participated in the study compared to males (35.3%). This is an indication
that there are more females student teachers at UNAM. This also coincides with the study by

Majzub and Rais (2010) the dominance of female teachers in the teaching profession resulting in

the feminization of teaching.

4.3.2 Age of the respondents
The study deemed it vital to investigate the age distribution of the respondents. Figure 2 below

shows the distribution of respondents by age.

The results show that majority of the respondents (47.1%) fall under age group 22-23 years old,

followed by +23 years old (35.3%) and the least represented age group was 20-21 years old
(17.6%). The dominance of the lower age group attributed to the fact that the population of the

study was mostly made up of undergraduate students.
