the peak season, and we look for other means to earn during the lean months.
1. Due to the rush of orders that you have received at the store, you are re-
questing for the following from your supervisor. Compose your request. You
may add related reasons.
a. more people at the store
b. more vehicles for delivery
c. additional 2 computer units
Sample answer:
Ma’am, as you can see in our reports and the reception at the stores, we have been getting
so many orders, and we need to make some changes to accommodate the demands of our
clients, and we have to make changes really soon or else, our good name and reputation will
be tainted. I think the first thing we should do is to field in more people at the stores, so that
we don’t keep our clients waiting to be attended to. We also need two more computer units
so that all the orders will be organized through one unit. The other unit may be used to com-
municate with clients through the internet to ensure that the orders are correct and that our
requests for supplies from our partners are relayed promptly. We also need additional delivery
vans to comply with the rush orders. We can’t afford to rely on the existing number of vehicles
we have at the moment. The traffic is really bad and we can’t be affected by this. We need more
vehicles, and of course, new drivers. We hope that these requests will be granted asap, so that
our business will be smooth sailing.
2. You are a manager and you are presiding a meeting with your staff. You have
received feedback from clients about inefficiency in accommodating and de-
livering orders. Hence, you decided to give tips on the following problems.
a. Forgotten orders
b. Late delivery
Sample answer:
One of our main agenda for this meeting is the feedback that I recently got from our clients. I
got word that we have been forgetting orders and making late deliveries. These are very alarm-
ing, because at least two clients were very upset by our oversight. If we want to survive in the
market, then we need to do well in our business. How can we always remember orders? There
are various ways. We have to use the logbook to log all incoming orders. We need to record
all orders as soon as possible or as they are placed, because if we don’t do it immediately,
then there are great chances that the logging in of orders will be forgotten. I will also install a
computer application that will make the placing of orders more efficient and more organized. I
hope that with the installation of this new application, there will be no more forgotten orders.
Another problem too is the late delivery of items. Our delivery men should be familiar with the
routes that can be taken in the face of heavy traffic. I believe that careful planning of routes
and deliveries will also save a lot of time. If routes are planned carefully, then bad traffic can
be avoided and we can even save on gas and time. I will be orienting our delivery men, so that
they can learn how to plan their delivery routes well. I hope that the implementation of these
tips will solve our problems for now. Thanks for your time.
