person and I’m very diplomatic.
1. You cannot say yes to the special requests of a client. Try to reach a compro-
mise by citing the following reasons.
a. possible loss of profits
b. it will serve as a precedent for other similar requests

Mr. Sun, I hope you understand that I cannot grant your request. We have studied this
very carefully, and we discovered that we may experience possible loss of profits. We,
however, considered to somehow forget the risk in profits and grant your request this
once only. However, we are afraid that if we grant you this request, it will serve as a
precedent for our other deals. Hence, we decided to say no to your request, but we will
still do our best to provide you with the quality and service that you deserve.
2. Ask for a special request from your business partner. Do your best to con-
vince your business partner to grant you your special request.
Sample answer:
Mr. Johnson, we would like to present some special requests regarding the packag-
ing and delivery of our orders. We are aware that you use a bubble wrap to secure our
items. However, based on our experience with a previous partner, some of our items
got damaged because only one layer of bubble wrap was used to cover our items.
In light of this, we are requesting for the use of two layers of bubble wrap placed
around our items, to prevent any damage to our products. We also need to request
for a rushed delivery because we’re slightly late in schedule. Can you accommodate
this request despite the short notice? I hope that you can do something about these,
especially because we don’t usually ask for requests or special treatments. We are just
pressed by the situation. I hope you understand. Thanks!
