The products shall be commonly in no-smoking area, keep the products clean during the operation, and try to
operate with an applicator or container.
Adhesive/sealant maintenance
If any fault or accident occurs to vehicle, it usually causes body deformation, steel plate cracking, welding
spot peeling, etc, and it sometimes lead to local damages of engine, chassis or other assembling parts,
resulting in peeling or damages of some adhesive/sealant-like products. During the maintenance of vehicle,
select the adhesive with the same performance as per the part materials and function requirements. The
following is a list of adhesive/sealant products applied during the vehicle maintenance, which can be chosen
for application during the maintenance.
a. Body maintenance
The adhesive painted on the body will be peeled off or broken after the body trims and steel plates are
deformed or cracked. It’s required to repair the parts with adhesive during the maintenance.
First remove the adhesive on body surface with a knife, and the residual adhesive can be wiped off via
alcohol; wipe the glued parts with special detergent, and prevent the residual adhesive or other impurities from
staying on the glued surface; repaint the repairing adhesive on the original glued parts to realize its bonding
and sealing effects.
b. Part maintenance
After some of trim parts, engine and transmission, etc are damaged, it’s required to perform the repair for
bonding and sealing. In case of coating the sealant, clean its bonding surface to avoid the adverse influences
of burrs or cracks on its bonding effects.
Attentions for construction
a. The purposes of adhesive/sealant is to prevent the water and dust from entering into the vehicle, and
corrosion prevention. The original sealing joints are obvious. If these sealing joints are damaged, seal them
again. In case of closing open joints with adhesive/sealant, select high-consistency packing. Operate as per the
instructions of selected materials.
b. In case of spraying adhesive/sealant-like materials, be sure to take preventive measures to avoid their entry
into the openings of parts (e.g. door lock, window rail, window regulator or seat belt retractor) as well as any
moving or rotating part, especially parking brake cable. After spraying adhesive/sealant, ensure that all the
body drain holes are opened.
c. During the construction, wear special safety glasses and gloves to avoid personal injury.
d. During the shipment of vehicle, the metal plates of vehicle body shall be coated. After repairing and/or
replacing the parts, all the naked metal surfaces must be coated with anti-corrosive primer before gluing.
e. Some of adhesive/sealant needs to dry and solidify after gluing. Its baking conditions are (70 to 80)℃ and
20 to 30min.
5. Asbestos
It’s easy to cause lung injury and even cancer to inhale asbestos dust.
In case of handling the asbestos dust waste, the asbestos dust shall be moistened, placed into a sealed
container, and make the obvious marks on the surface of container for convenient and safe handling. If it’s
required to try cutting or drilling the asbestos materials, it shall be first moistened, and only manual tools or
low-speed power tools can be used.
6. Battery acid
The gas emitted while charging is explosive. Don’t use open wire for operation near to charged battery or just
charged battery. Be sure to keep it well ventilated.
7. Chemical materials
Pay great attention to chemical materials like solvent, sealant, adhesive, painting, resin foam, battery acid,
engine cooling fluid, brake fluid, fuel, lubricating oil and grease during their application, storage and
handling. They may be toxic, harmful, corrosive, irritant, highly flammable, and have dangerous odor and dust.
