Diagnosis-Power Windows
Check if exhaust brake indicator light goes out.
Yes > Replace combination switch assembly.
No > Go to step 2.
2. Checking for circuit short from exhaust brake indicator light signal to ECM
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Disconnect battery negative cable.
(c) Disconnect ECM connector.
(d) Reinstall battery negative cable.
(e) Ignition switch: ON.
Check if exhaust brake indicator light goes out.
Yes > Replace ECM. (Refer to Service Manual for Cummins ISF Series Engines.)
No > Go to step 3.
3. Checking for circuit short from exhaust brake indicator light signal to combination meter
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
4 (b) Disconnect connector of combination
meter B034.

(c) Use a multimeter to measure resistance
to ground of connector pin 10 of
combination switch B029.
Resistance: >1MΩ

Is check result normal?
Yes > Replace combination meter assembly.
No > Repair lines to ground short from connector pin 10 of combination switch B029 to
connector pin 4 of combination meter B034 and connector pin 13 of ECM (58-pin) C033.
