Front axle-front wheel hub with brake drum assembly

20. Installing left front wheel hub with brake
drum assembly
(a) Put left front wheel hub with brake drum
assembly on left steering knuckle.
Tip:
Slip left steering knuckle through centers of inner and
outer tapered roller bearings of left front wheel hub.
(b) Grease inner race of outer tapered roller bearing
of left front wheel hub.
Grease: 2# lithium base grease
(c) Install inner race of outer tapered roller bearing
of left front wheel hub.
(d) Grease left steering knuckle threads and
lockwasher of left steering knuckle nut.
Grease: 2# lithium base grease

(e) Install lockwasher of left steering knuckle nut.

(f) Install left steering knuckle nut.
Tip:
In this step, simply tighten left steering knuckle nut,
but torque value is not required.
(g) Rotate left front wheel hub 2~3 turns by hand
in order to allow front wheel hub bearing to
enter correct position.
(h) Tighten left steering knuckle nut, and insert
split pin.

Torques:
Vehicle model Torque
1051 series 140~150 N•m
1061 series 140~150 N•m
1089 series 165~180 N•m
• After tightening, return approx. 30° to
align split pin hole with left steering
knuckle nut notch.
• Be sure to replace with a new split pin.
