Front axle-steering linkage
Overhaul
1. Removing drag link
(a) Separate drag link from steering arm.
• Pull out split pin, and loosen
hexagon slotted nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on drag link front end
assembly axially to separate drag
link from steering arm.

(b) Separate drag link from steering knuckle arm.
1051 series and 1061 series models:
• Pull out split pin, and loosen
hexagon slotted nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on drag link rear end
assembly axially to separate drag
link from steering knuckle arm.
1089 series models:
• Pull out split pin, and loosen
hexagon slotted nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on drag link rear end
assembly axially to separate drag
link from steering knuckle arm.
Tip:
Steps for separating drag link from steering
knuckle arm on 1089 series models and those for
doing the same job on 1051 series and 1061
series models are the same. (Only appearances
of steering knuckle arms differ.)
