Front axle-steering linkage
2. Removing steering knuckle arm
(a) Separate drag link from steering knuckle
arm.
1051 series and 1061 series models:
• Pull out split pin, and loosen
hexagon slotted nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on drag link rear end
assembly axially to take it off from
under steering knuckle arm.
1089 series models:
• Pull out split pin, and loosen
hexagon slotted nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.

knock on drag link rear end

Tip:
Steps for separating drag link from steering
knuckle arm on 1089 series models and those for
doing the same job on 1051 series and 1061
series models are the same. (Only appearances
of steering knuckle arms differ.)
(b) Separate steering knuckle arm from left
steering knuckle.
1051 series and 1061 series models:
• Pull out the 2 split pins, and loosen
the 2 hexagon slotted nuts.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed split pin.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on steering knuckle arm to
take it off from behind left steering
knuckle.
1089 series models:
• Loosen the nut.
Notice:
Do not reuse removed nuts.
• Using hammer and copper bar,
knock on steering knuckle arm
axially to take it off from behind left
steering knuckle.
