“…for every year, this Christmas tree brings to us so much joy and glee”
On November 20, 2021, District 20-K1 Leos and
Lions teamed up for Phase II of the community
gardening project at Jehu’s Table Church in
Brooklyn. Though it was a very cold Saturday
morning, the Leos and Lions came out in large
numbers, excited and with the Lions’ spirit.
DG Anthony with Lions at the table with donated clothing for the Veterans
Lion Mirle Gillard, Chairperson (Midwood),
distributed tulip bulbs and rose bush cuttings.
Even District Governor Anthony Cochran got
busy planting. The Leos also used this
opportunity to collect warm clothing for the
veterans. (see photo) Sunnyside Sur Americano
Lions Club donated a large selection of items for
the cause.
Lion Mirle thanked all participants for their
“Growth Through Service……Teaming Together”
support. Kings County, Prospect Heights, Crown
Heights, New Horizon, Starrett City, Vanderveer
Park-Glenwood, Stuy Park (Lions and Mascot
Kamiya Atherley), Bedford Stuyvesant, Midwood,
East New York, Metropolis (Lions and Leos) and DG Anthony plants rose bushes to beautify Lion Mirle demonstrates how to

Sunnyside Sur Amercano deserve special
mention. Kudos to Lions Sharon Elcock and
Yvette Jackson (Stuy Park) for providing
