“…for every year, this Christmas tree brings to us so much joy and glee”
Lion Brenda Cox (Brooklyn Transition Lions
Club), was among the concerned citizens of
Canarsie who met with Lion Senator Roxanne J.
Persaud and staff, on November 5 , to
th
denounce the ongoing dumping of garbage in
their community.
In order to draw attention to the issue, the
Senator conducted an onsite meeting outside the Lion Brenda Cox flanked by Jennifer Viechweg-Horsford and
Canarsie Yard at Glenwood Road and 102 nd Teresa Cunningham (DSNY)
Street. The meeting was attended by
representatives from the Metropolitan Transit
Authority (MTA), Department of Sanitation
(DSNY) and community members.
Afterwards, Lion Cox spent hours raking,
sweeping and bagging debris which had been
strewn over several blocks in the area. Senator
Persaud thanked Lion Cox for her service to the
community and also expressed her profound Lion Brenda Cox with Senator Persaud
gratitude to Brooklyn Transition Lions.
