Family and Medical Leave Act
FMLA is used for:
► When the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition
► Birth or placement of a child for adoption or for foster care
► To care for an immediate family member (spouse, child or parent) with a serious
health condition
► For any exigency when a spouse, child or parent is called up for active duty or is
already active in the military
► To care for a spouse, child or parent who is wounded during military service

(FMLA)
It is the Supervisor’s responsibility to inform
employees about FMLA, when there is reason to
believe that an Employee may be eligible for time
off and other benefits under FMLA.
