Glossary of Terms
Impacts
Any change to the environment, whether adverse or
beneficial, wholly or partially resulting from an
organization's environmental aspects.

Impartiality
A principle of honesty and fairness that decisions
should be based on objective criteria, rather than on
the basis of bias, prejudice, or preferring the benefit to
one person over another for improper reasons.

Inspection
Conformity evaluation by observation and judgment
accompanied, as appropriate, by measurement,
testing or gauging.

Internal Audit
An internal audit is a systematic evidence gathering
process that is carried out in order to determine how
well a management system meets a set of
expectations.

International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
The world association of Conformity Assessment
Accreditation Bodies and others interested in
