The last of the 4 projects by FGM for the Wentzville Fire Protection District based on the successful
2014 Bond Referendum, Fire House No 4 is a replacement facility based on the prototype
developed for previous Fire Houses No 2 and No 5. This house replaced a very outdated and
undersized station in which the ever-increasing size of apparatus had made the old station
physically obsolete. FGM sited the 12,740 SF station prototype footprint onto the most restrictive
site of all the prototypes due to the smallest size lot and restrictive utility easements, including a
more restrictive zoning requirements and architectural review as this facility was located in a
different municipality than the other houses. FGM worked closely with the City of Lake St. Louis to
accommodate the owner’s vehicle circulation needs while not compromising the future needs
of adjacent properties and highways for this rapidly developing City.
