    Post Road Chorus

Hey everyone, where did summer go? We were so busy with both new and old activities that the time
just slipped away. As we all know, contest prep takes precedence with focusing on two songs, what to
wear, choreography, and so forth. We had a dress rehearsal for friends and family on April 25th, 2017.
And what can we say about contest except that we saw friends we haven’t seen for a while, had lots of
fun, and enjoyed singing with people we love.

The chorus, including our two quartets, Carpe Singem and Divalicious, performed an hour long
program at Fairview Estates Retirement Home in Hopkinton, MA on June 6th. A beautiful facility
complete with an ice cream dispenser and movie theater. We were graciously received.

On Father’s Day, June 18th, we continued
our 3 year tradition of singing the
         National Anthem at the Worcester
Bravehearts baseball game held at Holy
Cross’s Fitton Field in Worcester, MA.

June 21st, the summer solstice, was Make
Music Day – a worldwide celebration of
all types of music. (pictured below)

We were assigned to sing at the

both quartets sang for an hour in

initial effort but we are positive that
next year will be better and audiences
larger and more receptive. However, it
was a lot of fun for us!

On a sad note, in April we lost one of members, Jeannine Mercier, who’s lovely bass voice, kindness,
and humor will be sorely missed.

We look forward to performing in the bandstand again at Holden Days on August 26th, will be
singing with the Worcester Men of Song at their concert in November at Mechanics Hall which
should be a blast, and will once again perform our holiday rep at Sturbridge Village in early
December. That’s to say as of right now, anyway…who knows what other opportunities will come
         our way before year’s end?
