CHAPTER – V
5.0 DETAILS OF PROPOSED TECHNOLOGY
This chapter provides the step wise details of all the aspects involved in the proposed
technology. Various aspects of biomining technology are:-
1. Stages of Biomining
2. Costing
3. Project Timeline
4. Safety
5.1 STAGES OF BIOMINING
The biomining activities involves various stages from initial surveys and site
investigations, planning, site development, processing of legacy waste, end use
planning of recovered material, disposal of rejects in appropriate methods etc. These
activities are discussed in detail in following subsections.
The RNN shall earmark the land extending to a minimum of two acres with natural
ground level for setting up the processing plant to the Developer/Contractor on their
furnishing security deposit and execution of the Contract Agreement.
5.1.1 SURVEY AND VOLUME DECISION
An initial Contour Survey will be conducted for the whole site by the contractor
before he starts the Bio-mining process to ascertain the total volume of waste
dumped. This report will be duly submitted to the RNN as the reference quantity
and acknowledged. The degraded and compacted solid waste has to be excavated
shall be earmarked at this stage.
At predefined volume of legacy waste processed the contour survey will be carried
out to ascertain the decrease in the volume and keep record of progress in the
work.
5.1.2 WORK PLAN
The work plan for various activities and time schedule should be prepared and
RNN should appoint personnel for the monitoring of these project activities.
The open drain coming into the dumpsite should be diverted to avoid the water
logging conditions in the site during the operational phase. The operation should
be planned for non-rainy season to avoid the discontinuation in the work.
5.1.3 DEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT SITE
The processing machineries shall set up according to the required capacity and the
predefined timeframe. The additional required infrastructure should developed by
contactor like fencing to the site and adequate lighting system for proper working
conditions at site. Adequate power back-up shall be ensured by the
