P. 7

4. Introduce the three categories of living, non-living and once-living.

Although God created the whole earth he did not give everything life. Some
of creation can be described as non-living. Can you think of something?
We can also describe some things as once-living. What do you think that

                      means?

Discuss the differences and similarities between the categories and then in
supervised groups go outside and apply them to what you observe as you

                      walk.

                  5. Observations can be recorded in the worksheet.

            Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

               1. The children should appreciate that God is living and full of life and that he
has expressed this by creating many different types of life on earth.

               2. They should see that God not only started life but that he keeps it going by his
                   powerful word.

               3. They should be able to categorise some objects according to whether they

                      are living, non-living or once-living.

should be called children of God.’

Genesis 1:26 ‘Then God said, “Let us make man in our own image…” ’

 God created people in his image to be a part of his family.

 God distinguished people from plants and other animals by giving them a body,
                    soul and spirit.
