Page 12 - MOVING THROUGH AIR
P. 12
Talk about what the children may like to be when they become adults.
5. Encourage the children with the good news that Father God is the one who
helps us to grow and develop in the same way that he makes all things grow.
Share
2 Corinthians 3:18 with them and help them to see that spending time with
Jesus helps us to become more like him.
What if we spend most of our time with a game-boy or the television?
6. Use the worksheet to record the learning and then within the context of a
review consider what happens when we look like Jesus. Explain how this
shows our friends and neighbours what Jesus is like. This is Father God’s
plan so that others can choose to follow Jesus too and his family can grow.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children should be encouraged, on the basis that Father wants to, and
will, help each one of us to become more like Jesus - to grow in love, faith,
understanding and wisdom etc; also, that Father will give and develop gifts in
us such as prophecy, encouragement and giving.
2. They should understand that all life shows the same pattern of beginning
small and immature and then growing and developing into a mature form
which can then reproduce itself.
3. They should begin to see that the growth and change Father brings in each
one of us is so that others might see more of Jesus in us and choose to
come and be a part of God’s family. In this way the whole family grows.
4. The children should be asking questions like - could we grow up to be like
someone else? Yes, whoever we give our attention to and spend time with
or learn about will affect the way we grow up.
