worked. (Your group might like to look for specific things using the
spotter sheets – one per group.)
x Farming has always been important in Oxfordshire, because God has
given us flat land here, with good soil, which is good for growing crops and
rearing animals on. See if you can discover the kinds of animals they
kept, and the things they grew –don’t forget the walled garden- and look
at the machines they used. How are they different to the farm machines
people use today? (No climbing on them- just look!)
x Just beside the farm there is an old church building. People still come
here every week to worship and pray.
6. Practical Matters
x Groups
x Each group is like a family, and must stay together.
x Think of others: be obedient to the adults in charge of you and make room
for others to see.
x Be thankful. Saying thank you shows respect to others.
We are representing The King’s School and King Jesus.
Pray together about the trip.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will have had an experience of a setting in which the past has been
reconstructed, and in which they may explore what it would have been like to have
lived then.
2. The children will have learnt about daily life on a farm about a hundred years ago.
