¾ Recording information helps you make it your own.
Way to Work (Means)
1. Let’s talk about our trip to Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
What have the people at the Museum tried to do? (Reconstruct the past)
What, out of all that you saw, did you find fascinating?
2. What do you think? After visiting the museum, what would you like about living
100 years ago?
What would you not like about it?
What would you miss from life now?
3. Now you will have an opportunity to record some of the things we have been talking
about.
Have the children select two things from the house for the first sheet. Spare
spotter sheets may be useful for the children to copy from. The section on clothes
related to a demonstration talk which our group had.
4. Display finished work, along with photographs of the trip to add interest.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will have shared some of the things they have discovered at the
museum, and recorded particular things as a way of consolidating what they have
learned.
2. The children will have followed up things that particularly interested them and will
have recorded these pictorially and in writing.
