THE KING’S SCHOOL – PART 1
Truth to Teach (Source)
Psalm 78:4-7 ‘We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the
Lord…Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget
his deeds but would keep his commands.’
Matthew 13:31-32 The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which grows and
becomes a tree.
Way to Work (Means)
1. The Seed -Show the children a tiny seed. This is how The King’s School began!
Mr. Ron Trudinger planted the seed in our minds at a Wantage celebration in 1983.
He asked all the children to stand on their chairs. Then he explained how important
and precious these children were to God. He called them V.I.P.s (very important
people) in God’s Kingdom. He told us about the Christian school in Basingstoke
which had been started to care for and teach the children there.
2. Seeds need watering and this was done by praying about the ideas he had sown in
our minds. After some time the leaders felt that God was telling our Church to
start a Christian school too. We had no money, no teachers, no children, no
building, no equipment, but we prayed!
3. The Sapling - God gave us the date of September 1984 to begin the school.
Seventy-seven children wanted to come and teachers were chosen. All the
equipment was ordered, but we had no building. Eventually we felt God was leading
us to use Merryfield House for the school. (If time allows, let the children walk
down to see it during the week.)
