5. One set of instructions which most certainly could be described as life-saving
is how to help someone give his or her heart to Jesus. Talk about the need
for the Holy Spirit as we draw near to pray with someone.

6. Introduce the idea of a pattern prayer such as the one below or another one
you have found useful: -
Say Wonderful

Say Sorry
Say Thank You
Say Please

7. Ask the children to write out a prayer using this outline, which they could use
if they were talking with someone who was giving his or her heart to Jesus.
Remind them they are not to write instructions. Encourage the children that
God is preparing them now so that they will know how to instruct other people

in how to be forgiven and come into God’s family.

Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

1. The children will appreciate that some instructions are life-saving.

2. They should be reminded of God’s generous love towards those who deserve
the opposite.

3. They will appreciate their role in making these life-saving instructions known.
