            Truth to Teach (Source)

¾ God desires that good relationships be formed through honest and accurate
                        communication.

¾ Some sentences are statements; some are questions; some are instructions
                     or commands; some are exclamations.

¾ Questions can be made by changing the order of the words.

¾ Commands can be made by moving the verb to the beginning of the sentence.

                     (see separate sheet).

                 3. Gather back to discuss and categorise the sentences into statements,
questions and commands or instructions and exclamations. Note the

                 4. Show the children how questions can be made into statements and vice versa.
Talk about the order of the words changing to make a question.

E.g. Is the weather warm? The weather is warm.
The coat is blue. Is the coat blue?

                 5. Show how commands can be made by moving the verb to the start of the

                     sentence.

E.g. You are going home. Go home.
We close doors quietly. Close the door quietly.

                 6. The children could suggest how we distinguish between punctuation marks
needed for the different types of sentences.

                 7. Let the children attempt the worksheet.
