Statement of aims and objectives
Long-term and short-term goals
The centre operates on a yearly planning basis and therefore the objectives of
the centre are usually of a 12-month nature. As this is the case, the aims and
objectives are as follows:
Program Marketing objective/s
1. Resistance training • Increased total commercial membership by 60–80
per cent. Increase the number of members from direct
competitors by 10 per cent
• Increase the number of athletes as members by
10 per cent
• Increase physiotherapist referral members by
10 per cent
• Increased corporate (TAFE) membership of 50 per cent
within 3 months
2. MATES • 20 new members to give 2 full programs within
6months. Currently there are 25 members in 1 full
program
3. Circuit training • Have 15 new members within 3 months (to fill
1 extra class, twice a week)
• Have 15 per cent of these members come from
direct competitors and current Hervey Bay Health,
Fitness and Testing Centre members
4. Aerobics • Have 20 new members within 3 months (to fill
1 extra class, twice a week)
• Have 15 per cent of members come from direct
competitors and beginners
5. Sport testing • To be testing an additional 10 individual sport athletes
and 20 team-sport athletes within 6 months
6. Training seminars • Have delivered 2 new seminars, each with at
least 15 attendees, hopefully with a healthy mix from
all targeted areas
If these marketing objectives are met within 12 months of the implementation
of the plan, the Hervey Bay Health, Fitness and Testing Centre will have gained
approximately $15500 in commercial revenue. This money will allow the centre
to open for longer hours and for the staff and students to have professional
development and improved equipment.
