SKIS Speaking Assessments – Grades 1 to 6
The SKIS Speaking Assessments are split into 2 sections – Reading Aloud and Spoken
Interaction. After the assessment, the examiner grades the student based on their
performance in both sections. Although both sections are graded separately, the
examiner will decide on a single final grade that accurately portrays the student’s
speaking ability.
Section A – Reading Aloud
In this section, students will be given a reading passage. They will read the passage out
loud for the examiner. The evaluation criteria is as follows. This criteria mirrors the
CEFR style of assessment.
